Passaic County Tech (4-4) defeated West Orange (3-5)  28-7, on Sunday, October 28, 2007.  The win by PCT guaranteed the Woodbridge Barrons an NJSIAA NJ2 -G4 Playoff berth!

With the conclusion of this week games, Woodbridge will post 42 Power Points (PP).  The Edison Eagles, the only team that could have knocked the Barrons from the playoffs, posted 34 PP.

Edison (3-4) has the potential to add 8 more PP to their total with a win next week against Perth Amboy (0-7), and 1 residual point from the winner of the East Brunswick / North Brunswick game, for a final season total of 43 PP.  However, a win by the Eagles will also contribute 1 more residual PP to Woodbridge making their season total 43 PP!

The NJSIAA states “head to head competition” is the first tie-breaker of PP totals.  Woodbridge defeated Edison 20-14 in OT back in week 5, thereby placing Woodbridge ahead of Edison in the final standings, and a minimum 8th place berth.

Although the potential for Woodbridge to move up in the standings exists, the smart money indicates an 8th place finish and a trip to Piscataway to face the 1st place Chiefs.

The overall record of the Woodbridge Barrons against the Piscataway Chiefs is  10 – 11 – 1.  The Chiefs are the GMC Red Division Champions for 2007 and a formidable opponent.  To call yourself a champion, you have to defeat the best competition.  No better team to start with than the Piscataway Chiefs!

Snap up boys!  Game Day is coming November 9, 2007!
