The Barrons Sideline: Up Next, Sayreville!

The key to the playoffs is beating the better teams, and gaining big time Power Points.  We lost an opportunity to do just that with the loss to Piscataway.  13+ PP went down the tube with that loss.  But the season is young and there are other fish to fry.

By my estimate, the Woodbridge Team will need at least 60 PP to gain a Playoff berth this year.  To put it simply, to advance, we have to win!  There are five games remaining on the schedule, and every one is an important contest.

For my money, there are only three schools that will produce 12+ PP.  They are Old Bridge, East Brunswick and up next, Sayreville.  With 17 points already in the bag, we have to defeat at least two of these teams, and then defeat Edison and North Brunswick..  Less then that, and the Playoffs are history.

I don’t mean to be the messenger of doom.  But, reality is reality.  Win, and the road to the Championship will remain clear and open.  Personally, I believe that if you play up to your potential, none of these teams will hold you back!  I’m looking for the “Sweep”, all the way to the Meadowlands!
