The Barrons Sideline:  It’s time to crank it up…

There are less than 2 weeks to opening day and the start of a long journey to the prize, a North Jersey 2 - Group IV State Championship!

The 2004 Program will be Coach Brian Russo's second season as the Barrons head coach.  In 2003, his team posted a record of  6-2 in the regular season, 1-1 in the NJSIAA Playoffs, and produced a victory against cross town rival Colonia, 17-0. His career record is 8-3.

On Friday, October 10, 2004,  at 7pm, South Brunswick will come calling at Nicholas Priscoe Stadium to begin the new season.  Last year, the Barrons defeated the Vikings, 14-6.

Coach Russo is hoping to get this years program off to a flying start with the help of his senior captains, Ken Siano, Justin Hinds, Rick Mozolic and Matt Bouchard.

Some other players to watch this year are Shamar Graves, Josh "Texas" Rock, Stefon Alexander, Matt Barringer, Wilson Kowaleski, Jon Mercer, and transfer student Josh Felton.  These guys are going to produce good things on both sides of the ball.

Offensive production will also be found in a young running back named Garrett Mozolic.  Expect some big numbers from this sophomore.

This years team has the potential to go the distance.  They are developing a TEAM

oriented chemistry, an intangible component of champions.

Two more scrimmages are scheduled against Toms River and Carteret on August 31 and September 3.

Stay tuned!
