The Barrons Sideline

The Edison PBA Revolving Trophy!

By:  Charles McDevitt  -  October 1, 2005

In 1992, the Edison Policeman’s Benevolent Association created a trophy designed to be held by the winning team whenever the Edison Eagles and the Woodbridge Barrons compete in a varsity football game.  The award displays the winning team and the score produced.

In the 45 year history of this rivalry, the Barrons have registered 33 wins, 12 loses and 0 ties, establishing an overall winning percentage of .733.

On Friday, October 7, 2005 at 7pm, the trophy will be up for grabs again!  The Edison Eagles will be coming to Nick Priscoe Stadium to play the 46th game against the Woodbridge Barrons.  The Eagles and the Barrons have both started poorly in the 2005 season with identical 0 – 4 records.  Both teams are looking to get into the winning column.

The game this year will test the will and heart of both squads.  The ultimate goal is to get the W, the trophy will just be an added benefit for the winning team.

I expect a hard played game by Edison, but I also expect a breakout game by the Woodbridge Barrons.

Sideline Selection:  Woodbridge 35 – Edison 14
